PROVIDING ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION
The Center is housed within the College of Education and Human Services at CMU. The University provides students at CMU-authorized charter public schools resources and programs to show them that higher education is accessible and important to their future.
“We provide CMU-authorized charter public schools with access to a variety of CMU programs and learning opportunities, and we are excited to be building these connections with students, families, and educators in our schools.”
– Dr. Dale-Elizabeth Pehrsson, Dean of CMU’s College of Education and Human Services
Visits to Campus
The Center encourages CMU-authorized charter public schools to visit CMU’s Mt. Pleasant campus to learn more about the great opportunities the University has to offer. Campus tours are ideal to gain a first-hand higher education experience and learn about academic programs. Transportation reimbursements of $1,500 for school buses are available to CMU-authorized charter public schools bringing seventh-12th grade students to campus. The special offer is limited and reservations are made on a first come, first served basis. For more details please contact the CMU Admissions Office at 989-774-3076 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
CMU and You Day
CMU offers CMU and You Day each fall to give prospective students and their families a chance to experience the great opportunities CMU can provide. The day-long event includes the option to meet with faculty and advisors, tour campus, visit residence halls, and attend a home football game.
