Providing Access to Higher Education
The Center is housed within the College of Education and Human Services at CMU. The University provides students at CMU-authorized charter public schools resources and programs to show them that higher education is accessible and important to their future.
Visits to Campus
The Center encourages CMU-authorized charter public schools to visit CMU’s Mt. Pleasant campus to learn more about the great opportunities the University has to offer. Campus tours are ideal to gain a first-hand higher education experience and learn about academic programs. If your school needs support in bringing students to campus additional resources may be available for transportation reimbursements. This is a limited opportunity and reservations are made on a first come, first served basis. To learn more about the event and/or assistance in getting your group to campus, please send an email with the name of your school, a contact name, school address, phone number and email address to CMU Admissions Office at 989-774-3076 or cmuadmit@cmich.edu.
CMU and You Day
CMU offers CMU and You Day each fall to give prospective students and their families a chance to experience the great opportunities CMU can provide. The day-long event includes the option to meet with faculty and advisors, tour campus, visit residence halls, and attend a home football game. This event is free and participants receive a complimentary lunch. For more information visit the CMU and You Day website.
