Shawn serves as a school lead, providing expertise and guidance to schools on issues related to school operations, governance, general compliance and student achievement. He meets regularly with individual schools, attending board meetings, overseeing site visits and discussing each school’s unique areas of success and opportunity. Prior to joining the Center, he served in the role of principal and head of school at several schools throughout Michigan with more than 20 years of experience working in education. He also has an extensive background in presenting to schools and education conferences on a range of topics and best practices. Shawn earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary’s College, Master of Arts degree from Marygrove College, and administration certification from Western Michigan University. He is currently completing his Doctor of Educational Leadership program at Western Michigan University.
