Session Description: Strategic decisions made by a board can fundamentally influence the capacity of a school to improve student outcomes. This final session of the Board Development Series focuses on the strategic use of academic data to ensure a school “fosters academic excellence for all children.”
The session begins with a review of how great schools organize and analyze data as a basis to monitor and measure organizational performance. Examination of the annual Academic Performance Report will set the stage for a review of current strategic practices. The session concludes with an introduction to the Center’s new growth measure and revised charter contract language for the 2016-17 academic year. School-level, customized data that utilize the new growth measure will be available for review.
