Ayrionna Christian, a junior at Central Michigan University and an alumna of Jalen Rose Leadership Academy, embodies determination and gratitude in her pursuit of academic and creative excellence.

Throughout her four years at JRLA, Ayrionna thrived within a supportive academic environment that nurtured her growth and facilitated a seamless transition into higher education. She fondly recalls the familial atmosphere that permeated JRLA, fostering connections among students, staff, and family members.

“I am grateful to say that I still have the support system of my JRLA postsecondary team,” Ayrionna says. “I can always reach out to them directly to gain more support and advice throughout my college journey, and it’s a great feeling that I have such amazing connections.”

Choosing CMU was a deliberate decision fueled by both academic and personal considerations. The allure of scholarship opportunities and a desire for a fresh, robust learning environment led Ayrionna to CMU.

“I also wanted to attend a school that wasn’t too far away from home, and choosing CMU was a great choice for me,” she says.

Ayrionna’s academic journey at CMU is marked by her enthusiasm for graphic design, a discipline she discovered during the COVID-19 pandemic. Inspired by her cousin, she found solace and purpose in art and design, igniting an earnest desire to explore and innovate within the industry.

With her sights set on obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Ayrionna is steadfast in her commitment to excellence.

“My major goal is to walk across that stage with my degree and step out to the world to experience and explore the graphic design industry,” she says. “Making my family proud is my dream and I will continue to work hard to achieve it.”

Ayrionna is poised to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, eager to leave her mark on the world.
