They walk us through their findings and recommendations that are now available in their report, Examining the Impacts, Changes and Innovations Schools Have Experienced During the COVID-19 Pandemic. This report follows their research, including focus groups and surveys with CMU partner schools, to investigate this important topic.   13. Carol Spanninga – Art Teacher at Island City Academy

    No one escaped the need to change and adapt during the pandemic, including the teachers and students in Michigan’s schools. Students had to adapt the way they learned, just as teachers had to adapt the way they taught.

    For some, the move to online learning was an easier transition. Some subjects lend themselves well to being taught through a computer screen.

He shares his perspective on some of the historic milestones during the first 25 years of charter schools in Michigan and walks us through what it was like to be a part of the transformation of public education here in our state. Dr. Goenner is the current president and CEO of the National Charter Schools Institute.
